Trying something a little different, LBC entered an Octuple (8X+ with far too many blades than seems reasonable) and a mixed quad for Derwent Head. Held on Derwent Water in the Lake District. The legendary Lake District scenery lived up to its reputation with the stunning backdrop of Cat Bells framing the mist rising off the lake as we arrived for division one.

The weather gods smiled on the 142 crews racing across two divisions, with a chilly but sunny first division for the Mixed Masters quad, and a slightly choppier but still dry 2nd division for the octuple magnificently coxed by Jen.

The crews took the opportunity to make a long weekend of it, with plenty of food, wine and dogs getting in on the act. See you next year Derwent!
