Some of rower’s favourite things are rowing, sunshine and pubs, so when it was suggested LBC combine all three and row to the pub it was an offer we could not refuse. As soon as we had found a spreadsheet large enough to cope with the risk assessment we were underway!

The only challenge we faced, was that to get to the chosen pub at Trent Lock we had to row through two locks, which are somewhat narrower than a rowing boat with all the blades sticking out.

Luckily we were aided by two launch crews and a narrowboat, so managed to arrive and return from the pub intact, with those outside the boat working the lock gates and those inside the boat being extremely trusting.

A fun day for all, and really great to see a real mix of club members and friends taking part, both rowing and non-rowing.
