FUN ROWING EVENTS

A couple of times a year we run fun rowing events where we get club members into random crews for very short races on our own river.

Mixing up juniors, seniors and masters is a great way for people to get to know each other in a friendly environment and can be a good introduction to racing. Expect some dubious steering and unexpected victors!

REGATTA CAMPING

At the summer regattas, which are typically over a weekend, a number of us take the opportunity to dust off the tents or camper vans and stay over at the race location, indulging in some good food, beer/wine and company where we celebrate victories and come up with increasingly inventive excuses for losses.

SUPPER CLUB

We host a weekly ‘supper evening’ where club members take turns to cook for each other making use of the club kitchen facilities and the club bar.

In addition to the odd informal weather-dependent barbecue in summer, we hold a more formal annual meal and a Christmas meal.

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

International competitions are a great excuse for a week’s fun in the sun combining a holiday with the chance to race against clubs from other countries.

We have raced in Hungary and sweltering France, with events in Germany and Spain coming up.
