Loughborough Boat Club Members enjoyed an outstanding Annual Dinner in the company of the Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Christine Harris, and with Great Pacific Ocean Race rower Cazz Lander as guest speaker.
Cazz presented a video showing her success in a three-woman crew racing across the Pacific Ocean. Prior to the race Cazz had attended a ‘Learn to Row’ course at the Club in order to learn the basics before moving on to her ocean-going craft. Stunning shots of the challenging journey amazed all the watching club rowers and the bravery and determination of all the participants was evident.
Captain Keith replied on behalf of the Club, with this being his last Annual Dinner as Captain, and presented prizes to winners of the Club Trophies.
After the traditional and closely-fought ‘Club Bingo’, compeered by Club President Stuart Ward, members stayed late into the night to enjoy the celebration of the year’s events.
