As the snow continued, racing moved indoors to Nottingham Trent’s Clifton campus new sports Centre. The indoor event on Concept2 rowing machines was primarily for students racing under BUCS, but they also offered junior events. This was the first event of this kind that juniors or coaches from Loughborough Boat Club had attended so was a good experience for all involved. Loughborough Boat Club took Tom Gee (J16) Guy Thompson, Matt Pavord (J15)  Daniel Walder (J14) and Rachel Grewcock (W.J15) and Alice Lambton (W.J13).

Tom narrowly missed beating his personal best by 1 second. Guy won 1st place in the J15 category improving his personal best by a massive 4%. Matt came 2nd  place beating Nottingham Boat Club easily. Rachel came third narrowly missing out on first place by only 20m. Alice came second with a huge PB which is something to be really proud of. All trophy winners only started rowing this summer, so it is a fantastic start to the new Loughborough Junior Squad. Coach Neil Martin says “The juniors have had a fantastic start to their racing career, with a few showing great potential for selection for the East Midlands team who would represent the East Midlands in the Junior Inter Regional Regatta next April.”
