A fantastic donation of a training boat has been made by a local resident to LBC.

The sculling boat, which can be used for training and development, has been given to the club by Mr Bill James of Barrow on Soar.

Mr James has always lived a busy life and spent much of his life and his career working in Shepshed. Living near the river at home gave Mr James the thought that a rowing boat would provide good exercise and change from the pressures of business. That sadly did not come to fruition and Mr James wanted the boat to be put to good use.

With Mr James have connections to our long standing honorary member Terry Higgins the boat was kindly offered to the club.

This has been received with great thanks and the club and committee would like to re-enforce their gratitude towards Mr James and his donation.

Plans are underfoot to integrate the equipment into the learn to row courses and beginners rowing schedules.
