Loughborough Boat Clubs winning form continued last weekend with 5 wins at Burton Regatta and Sprint.

Saturdays event was held over a 1100 metre, down stream course.

It was not long before the first of the club wins was provided by Tom Scholefield, who confidently defeated his Newark RC opponent in the IM2 single scull.  Tom was soon to add a second victory to his tally with his sculling partner Tom Gee in the IM2 2x event. Both juniors are showing great promise, Tom Scholefield (17) will now race at IM1 level. Due to a points complication, Tom Gee (16) rowing in his first season, was entered in to the IM1 single scull event in which he was in contention.

The days racing was ended in perfect style with the Masters D 4+ crew consisting of Chris Smith, Andrew Hill, Andrew Martin and Andy Skinner coxed by Rachel Grewcock powering over the line to an easy victory.

Sundays sprint, over the shorter 700 metre distance turned out to be a day to remember for junior member Rachel Grewcock (15). After the previous days coxing victory she was lucky enough to meet Sir Steve Redgrave who was a guest of the Regatta filming with the BBC. Topping off the weekend Rachel gained her second tankard and lost her novice status with victory in the WNOV1x.

Loughborough Junior Girls were represented by the WJ14 2x crew of Alice Lampton and Beth Henry and the WJ15 2x partnership of Beth Henry and Lucy Agar. Both the crews rowed faultlessly and with style, power and determination. However victory was denied them as not for the first time this season both crews were drawn against the National Schools Bronze winning double from Trent RC.

Another fantastic weekend racing for Loughborough Boat Club was brought to a perfect ending when the four winning crew members of Saturdays Masters 4+ were joined by Nick Maker, Mike Targett, Shane Freer and Mark Meacham who, coxed by  Oisin Mcnally-Rielly found victory in the MastersD8+ with clear water over their rivals from Doncaster.
