The sunshine and friendly regatta makers put the icing on the cake for LBC at Bradford RC Regatta. In a beautiful setting, with Saltaire as a backdrop, a fantastic days rowing lay ahead.

LBC junior squad enjoyed a very successful days rowing. The pairing of Emily Senior and Matilda Haines won their heat with ease to reach the final, just missing out to the Newark crew. Another LBC promising pairing, Lucy Agar and Bethan Henry were unlucky not to triumph in their event. Unfortunately Bethan was not well, but was determined to race despite being under the weather. Her younger brother Arthur Henry had a perfect maiden single scull and bought home silverware for LBC in the J12, with easy victorys against both crews from Chester Le Street.

Brothers Cathal and Oisin McNally-Reilly faired well in their respective single scull events, unlucky not to achieve wins.

LBC WIM34+ crew of Lisa-Marie Evans, Erica Gummery, Lindsey Skinner and Zoe Poyner with cox Jonny Day had a terrific battle in the final but just lost out to their opponents.

Silverware was guaranteed in the Mixed IM3 coxed fours with both finalists represented by LBC. It was unclear which crew would be victorious, even once the race took place it was neck and neck the length of the course. However Lisa-Marie Evans who had not coxed a race before, managed to squeeze an extra push from her crew of Tom Scholfield, Andy Skinner, Lindsey Skinner and Zoe Poyner who gained only ½ length to secure winners tankards. The opposing crew of Keith Hudson, Charlie Henry, Kate Henry and Erica Gummery coxed by Oisin McNally-Reilly put up a tough fight.

All in all, a wonderful days racing, in a lovely place, hosted by great people! Looks like this event may be featuring on the LBC calendar more often.
