All LBC members are, of course, avid readers of the monthly article on healthy nutrition published monthly in the British Rowing magazine. A quick glance through the last two issues will reveal dishes which are ideal for building strength, fitness, and muscle. For example, Strawberry and rhubarb smoothie, Poached salmon Caesar salad, and Seabass with asparagus and beetroot salsa, which no doubt all feature regularly on our pre-race dietary plans.
For the second year running Loughborough headed East for a final Hurrah of the 2015-16 head race season at the Head of the Cam. Having heard how much fun was had last season a full trailer of boats made the long trek along the A14 to do battle with Cambridge traffic and housing estates. I’m not sure Nick and Walrus really understood why their boat for Leicester regatta on Sunday went via Cambridge, Mercedes SatNav says “recalculating”!

On Saturday 19th March our rowers took to the water to raise money for Sport Relief in a mini ‘Soar Head’
After so many cancelled races due to flooding, high winds, flooding and yet more flooding, it was with great relief that the club was able to enter eight crews at Lincoln Head, a 3000m upstream race on the River Witham.
