The sun was shining creating a comfortable temperature and a light breeze was in the air. Was this really the time for the Boston Marathon?!
With a smaller contingency than usual, Loughborough Boat Club sent its Juniors up to Bradford Autumn Regatta to battle it out with the northern clubs.
Another of the double day rowing competitions took place at Bewdley on the River Severn. Saturday’s Regatta at 800 metres and Sunday’s Sprint at a slightly easier 600 metres brought more wins for Loughborough Boat Club against some very stiff competition.
The 1100 metre Burton Regatta dawned with the beginning of a blazing hot day. With deck chairs, picnics and rugs, gazebo’s and even umbrellas for the sun, Loughborough Boat Club was ready for the day. The smell of sun lotion permeated the air and the first crews were up.

The sun shone (mostly) and the River Severn was being well behaved for once allowing a fabulous weekend of racing for the club.
Two of our youngest juniors were the sole competitors for Loughborough Boat Club at the Peterborough Junior Championships at the weekend which is on a 1000m multi-lane course.
