November 2009 saw a record 102 entries for the 10th anniversary of the LBC Soar Head 2009 meeting at Loughborough.

Despite a rather grey and bitterly cold start to the day, the conditions improved to glorious sunshine for the division 1 crews. Unfortunately, as the weather closed in, Divisions 2 & 3 crews had a more tougher time in the conditions. The fastest crew of the day was Doncaster IM3 4+ with a well deserved time of 11.57 minutes. Leicester Rowing Club showed, as always, they are a force to be reckoned with as they stormed with 8 wins during the day. Congratulations also goes to Daniel Janes from Nottingham Universtity RC as the fastest sculler with a time of 12.30 minutes.

Lougborough Boat Club managed to secure two wins with the Men’s IM3+ comprising of Shane Freer, Torsten Kampmann, Dev Tailor and Neil Martin and the Men’s IM1 2- crew of Keith Hudson and Pete Kinnell.
